A journey to wellness and healing
A Moment of Grace was born from my own experience with physical and mental health challenges. Working as a health care professional and executive, I was burned out, physically sick and chronically fatigued. Battling several autoimmune conditions, experiencing physical pain, and grappling with mental health challenges, I was determined to find joy, health and hope again. Seeking healing, I intensified my commitment to a physical yoga practice. Though I had practiced asanas (postures) for over 20 years, it was enrolling and completing my first yoga teacher training in 2022 that quickly shifted me from illness to wellness, allowing me to thrive and balance my energy. Embracing the full breadth of yoga as a way of being, not just a set of postures to perform, fed my soul, transformed my emotional health and radiated ease into every corner of my life.
Now, I want to support you to move from doing to being. I look forward to welcoming you to experience the transformative power of adding A Moment of Grace into your day.
With gratitude, Jacklyn
P.S. As a small, local, woman owned business, I pride myself on being intentional in my approach and offerings, choosing to also support local business owners, organizations and service providers. It’s more important than ever to choose mindfully where we place our thoughts, power and abundance. That’s why I chose to partner with Love My Mat, a Hamilton based, women owned business that creates yoga props, meditation cushions and other accessories from upcycled fabrics. Please visit them on their website to explore their quality made, unique products that will support your practice at home or in studio. Click on their logo to visit their website!
Further, in my quest to open the studio I was gifted beautiful treasures and special decorative touches from a special being. My dear friend and fellow yogini lost her sister, Flo, a loving mother, sister, and yoga teacher, to mental health - a struggle she carried throughout her life as a result of childhood trauma. In survivorship, her family created the Flo Walker Stardust Fund with proceeds going to Kids Help Phone. A Moment of Grace has chosen to provide a karma offering, in honour of Flo’s divine legacy. We aim to keep her spirit alive through all who walk through our doors who need sanctuary and healing. Flo, we aim to do you proud and keep spreading the good to every person who graces our studio with their presence xo
Another exciting partnership that has blossomed, is one that is dear to my heart for so many loving reasons. Capillary Wave Community for Men is a local Burlington Ontario not for profit organization serving men who are struggling with mental health challenges. Their mission is to break the stigma surrounding men’s mental health and provide accessible support, resources, and community to those who need it. They support men’s mental wellness through their weekly groups (offering shop talks), social connections (field trips) and connection to therapists (their pit crew). Too many men go through their life journey feeling alone in their experience, not knowing where to begin to seek help and feeling ashamed to reveal the struggles that they battle inside their own minds. Capillary Wave’s curated offerings create a safe, supportive environment to empower men to seek help, develop connections and support each other through mental health challenges. In this way, they are breaking the stigma for men to heal trauma, create positive emotional well-being, and form meaningful relationships creating ripples (capillary waves) of positive healing throughout our community. We are proud to be a sponsor, supporter and champion of men’s mental health and wellness, through our karma offerings as well as giving our time to support the wellness of their community. I am pleased to support their efforts to turn isolation into connection, provide hope and knowledge, and light the way to healing for the men in our community. I dedicate this offering to the many men in my life who have struggled, continue to struggle and choose hope and faith everyday…I see you, I love you, and I wish you peace xoxo
